Dahlia market April 15th, 16th and 17th (Easter)

Dahlias come from Mexico. There it is a perennial. The great majority of dahlias are frost tender, so in this country you need to dig them up every year immediately after the first frost and stock them in a cool, frost-free place. Admittedly a lot of work, but in return you will get flowers from July until the first day temperatures fall below zero. And the more flowers you cut, the more you get. Have you kept your last year’s dahlias in a frost-free place? This month you can begin planting them in pots and place them in a light place. Mid-May, when the danger of frost has passed, you can plant them in your garden.
